It's so important if you have a tbi or any kind of medical issue to stay moving. Don't let your mind get lazy. Don't let yourself sit around and do nothing. Stay moving. When you keep your mind stimulated and stay active, you are much less likely to fall into depression or any other kind of mental fatigue or restlessness. Stay focused and don't let your mind become lazy. In my own experience, I have found that the times that I experience the greatest periods of depression or anxiety are during the times when I allow myself to get lazy doing nothing to better myself or anybody else's day. Maybe you can't get up and run or walk, then just sit up and read a book or call somebody to wish them a good day. Don't let your mind fall into complacency; always be active, either trying to brighten someone else's day or improving your own skill in some skill or task. It can be something as small as writing a letter, calling somebody, or walking the dog, or taking a stroll through the neighborhood. The point I'm trying to make is to stay moving mentally or physically or both, which is the better. A great way to do this is take two small dumbells and lift them in the air five times, then curl them five times, then lift them up five times.
Never allow yourself to become too lazy.
I know it can feel so good to sit on the couch for long hours and do nothing but watch TV. Yes we need our rest, but it is so important to keep our minds and/or bodies stimulated in order for us to stay in our purpose P- (passion-stay doing what your passionate about) U-(Stay in unity with others who share your passions) R-(Stay responsible) P.-(Keep thinking and speaking Positive, Empowering Thoughts) O-(Others-always look for ways to benefit others) S-(Do excerscises/activities to help Your Self) E-(Everyday- Keep practicing these principles everyday).
I gaurantee that if you work on not allowing yourself to become lazy and apply these principles of P-U-R-P-O-S-E, your life will greatly improve.

Powerful Words
What does that mean to you..."Speaking words of power"? Those words can mean something different to each of us. Did you know that the words you speak can either lead you down the path of success or they can help in causing you to be distracted and forget the vision you have for your life. You can either speak words that will speak life and power to others or you can speak negative words which will tear others down and thus bring yourself down. Your words are just that powerful. You can either speak positive, empowering words which will lead you to a successful life in everythhing you do, or you can speak negative, critical words which will bring you down and make you loose focus of your vision. People will respect/admire you for this even though they may not show it in their actions.
You see, in my own recovery I have realized this truth, and make every effort to speak words of power. James 3:8,9,10 says,"But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9With it we bless our God and Father and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brothers these things ought not to be so."
I have realized that when I speak uplifting words of power and enocuragement, my day is better and people around me treat me better.
I challenge you today to speak those words which are only positive and uplifting to others. Speak those words which which will lead you to success and a life of fullness. Every great leader never susceded by speaking words of criticism and negativity. Do you want to live a life that leads to greatness? Let your words match that hope.
Maybe you can't seem to speak anything positive, but you can only think of hopeless words to speak. I'd love to talk to you about this.
Romanans 5:1 says, "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Do you want to know more about that peace you can have through Christ?

Passion, Action, Vision, Security, Success
A very wise man once told me that to have success in anything I do in life, I need to live by these five words; passion, action, vision, security, success. "What does that mean", I asked. He then told me the meaning behind those 5 words.
'In whatever you do",he said, "make sure it is something you are passionate about, something that gives you excitement and something you continually want to return to do. Take action in that passion. Don't be passive and do nothing with it, but start acting based off of that passion. If your passionate about nutrition, start researching nutrition or take a course in nutriition. don't let your passion fizzle out because you are doing nothing with it. This will give you a vision of what you can do with your passion. Maybe your passion is music. If you keep on playing and studying music, this might give you the vision for becoming a music teacher or starting a band or music house. This vision of your passion will keep you going and excite and invigorate your passion.Find other people to come along side you to join you in your passion and vision. This will create a sense of security. You will feel secure in what you are doing, and even if some people criticize you for accomplishing your vision or for whatever reason, it won't matter because the fulfillment of doing what you're passionate about with other peopleb far outweighs any harsh words people say. Once you have mastered these five principles, this will bring you success in whatever it is that you are doing."
I'll add something here. You will find a much greater sense of success and fulfillment when your vision is focused on improving other peoples' lives with your passion.

Sowing the good seed
How many of you believe you can plant seeds in Others' lives? You can either plant seed that is uplifting to somebody else and that will brighten somebody else's day or you can plant seed that will upset somebody or pull them down by a harsh word you may say. I have realized that I always see the consequences of every word I speak to preople in one way or another. If I say something negative to somebody either about them or about the day, I will always feel that negative feeling inside. However, speaking words that are uplifting and positive to somebody will always bring a sense of joy and satisfaction. Proverbs 11:18 b says, "But He who sows righteousness will have a sure reward." amd Matthew 7:12 says,"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, you also do to them."
If you sow those good seeds into other peoples' lives by saying positive, uplifting words or just showing kindness, I promise you, you will get the same back and your day will brighten. And this will happen, because you chose to brighten somebody else's day simply by the words you spoke or something you did.
I challenge you today to find at least two people to speak positive, uplifting words to and see how your day will improve, simply because you chose to positively impact someone else's life.
Maybe you really struggle with thinking of anything positive or uplifting to say and would like to talk to someone here at The Next Level or Living Waters? I would love to talk to you about my experience and what I've learned. Email me williamb374@msn.com or go to http://www.livingwatersministry.com/

You're not alone
For the longest time, I felt like I was the only one struggling with what I was going through. I felt like nobody out there really knew how I felt or what I was experiencing. Yeah my family, few friends, doctors, and therapists all seemed to genuinely care about me, but I didn't feel like anybody really understood what I was going through. Then my eyes were opened. There's tons of people out there who are going through almost exactly what I went through (a tbi and being paralyzed from strokes). Not only that, but someone out there is always in a worse situation than I was. A friend of mine told me that. No matter what, there is always somebody in a worse predicament than you are.
Wow...I realized I wasn't alone. There were other people, even thousands and thousands of people who were going through what I went through.
Maybe you're out there and yu feel like nobody truly understands what you're going through. You feel alone, helpless, and hopeless. I know I did at one time. Take comfort in knowing there are others out there just like yourself.
I encourage you with this; You're not alone, I promise. There is somebody out there who is going through what you're going through. Not only that, God will be with you if you will just call on Him. Romans 8:38 says that there is nothing that can seperate us from the love of God. This simple truth became so real to me after my acciddent. I knew God and loved Him before, but I truly came to realize that no hurtful word, no semi, no person, no sickness, and even no acciddent can seperate me from His love. I encourage you today that if You will just cry out to God with belief and assurance in His grace, He will reach down and save you so that you can have this amazing assurance that you will never be alone. No matter where you are or what you've done, He will never leave you. You're not alone.

Using the resources you've been given
How many of you have a few or more close friends you greatly admire and enjoy hanging out with. Maybe for you, its just your family that you really enjoy spending time with. I know for me, I enjoy hanging out with a few very close friends, and also I really enjoy my family. Usually you can only count your closest friends on one hand, and that is definitely something I have found to be true. Through and through all these other people who call themselves friends just fade away. The main people who I have chosen to stay in unity with are mainly a few friends and my family. Everybody else is only superficial. I encourage you to do the same.
Find a few close friends who you can rely on and talk to about anything without them criticizing you. The best way to guage whether someone is a true friend is if they can listen to your problems, not be offended, and try to help you work through the pain. Don't go in search of all these other people to fill the emptiness or loneliness you feel inside. Rather learn to trust and rely on your family and few close friends; you know they won't let you down. The other friends will come later when your not even trying to make a friendship happen. This goes for all kinds of relationships.
Maybe you feel like you can never seem to make any friends or maybe your faamily has desserted you. Well I wanted to tell you now about the friend who has transformed my life. He never lets me down. He listens to everything I ever tell Him, and His promises for me are greater than I could ever imagine. You see, this friends name is Jesus Christ and He has set me free and redeemed me from a hopeless life of sin.Jesus loved me and called me a friend long before I ever even thought of Him. Romans 5:6 says, "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." That was me, you, my family, your family, my friends, your friends and everyone else that Christ died for. You know He died for you and I so that we don't have to strive to make friends because of emptiness and loneliness we feel inside. Why? you might ask. Well it is because He loves you and I more than we could ever imagine. Romans 8:38 says "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor powers nor things present nor things to come, (39) nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to sperate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
You see God loves you so much that he wants to be your closest friend so that nothing can seperate you from His love. He loves you more than you can imagine.
Please respond to Him. Romans 10:9 says, ":That if you believe in your heart the Lord Jesus, and confess with your mouth that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Believe in Christ and what He has done for you (He died a horrific death for you so that you didn't have to, and this payed for every sin you ever have done so that you don't have to pay the consequence I promise you if you respond to this overwhelming love of God out of a true heart of repentance from your sins and tell others about it, your life will be radically changed and Romans 5:1 will become so true in your life, "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." This amazing peace is waiting for you. Respond to Christ in belief and faith in His Son Jesus Christ and what He did for you.
He will take every fear, every rejection, every hurt, every pain of losing those closest to you, every tear over a disability or anger problem you may now have now, and even every rage or anger you may feel towards somebody for causing you harm. He will take all of these things and wipe them away. He'll take away the heavy weight off your chest, the depression you battle, and the hopelessness you live with everyday and throw all these burdens as far as the east is from the west!
Please, I implore you to respond to Him and let me know, or maybe you have questions,

Be Fearless
Fear. This four letter word defines the greatest battle I faced for the longest time. I lived in a state of perpetual fear. I was fearful of what others thought of me, fearful of losing my friends, fearful of cancer, fearful of death, fearful that I would not finish college, fearful I wouldn't find a girl who could love me for me, fearful of failure, and even fearful of others letting me down. The list goes on. There were so many things, thoughts, ideas, and situations I feared. For the longest time I struggled with this, but then I came to realize that every thing, thought, situation, or person I feared actually had no way of hurting me and nobody had any intention of thinking any of the things towards me that I feared. The majority of our fears are created in our heads, and thats all they are; just thoughts and silly imaginations. Once I realized this, I was able to have a completely different outlook on life. No longer did I isolate myself out of fear of what others thought or said. Not to mention, that I also found inspiration through the Bible. A powerful verse which greatly strengthened me was 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
I realized God had given me a spirit of power and a sound mind, and fear was just a distraction.
I don't know what your fears are. Maybe you fear that you will never walk again, or maybe you fear nobody will accept you, or people will make fun of or mock you. Maybe you fear your friends/family will dessert you. Well I have news for you. Everything we fear in this life usually never comes to pass. Most of your fears are just thoughts which have krept in your life. If we live in a state of continual fear, our lives will slow down, and we won't be able to accomplish all we've been placed on this earth to accomplish. Fear clouds your vision, yor thought life, and even your passions. I challenge you today to not let fear hinder you from accomplishing your dream, life goal, or what you've been placed on this earth to do. Be FEARLESS!
Maybe you have questions about how I overcame fear, or how God helped me overcome fear and has given me a spirit of power.
