Greater is He that is in You

There was a time in past history when the world was chaos. In the little city of Geneva, John Calvin and a few others decided they were going to make a difference. Him and a few men decided the city of Geneva no longer needed to remain the most wicked city of that time. Geneva was the Las Vegas of that time.

So what did they do? They began praying. They began evangelizing and reforming the city one person at a time. Before you knew it, the city of Geneva was won over to Christ. And the Great reformation began. This sparked one of the greatest revivals the world has ever known.

Much of Europe was impacted by the Great Reformation, and many souls since then have been impacted.

Where did it start? It started when John Calvin chose to make a difference and choose to impact others for Christ.

Hopeless people found hope in Jesus. Jesus looks at us in our hopeless situations and He gives us hope. In Romans 5, we read of how the hope we can have in Christ "never disappoints."

I know for me, 8 years ago, I was hopeless. I was paralyzed and thought my life of normalcy was done. I was told that I would have to go to a special school for the disabled.

But, what did God say? My hope was in Jesus Christ, and He never disappoints.

In 1 John 4:4, we read that "Greater is He (Jesus) than he that is in the world."
Every battle in my life, every battle in your life has no comparison to the Greatness of Jesus Christ.

This past week I saw at Jesus Culture Los Angeles, how people would pray for those in wheelchairs and the paralyzed walked out of those chairs.

Jesus is pointing His finger at you right now, and He says, "What are you waiting on? I came to this earth, died an humiliating and painful death for you so that you might have the life John 10:10 talks about, where Jesus claims,

"10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Believe in Jesus today, except His love,  and be set free from your sin! Find hope, Find Peace!

Rescued From Death from A THopeless Car Accident

At the first sight of our vehicle, anybody would have thought that a tragedy had happened. One look at the heap of metal which once was a rodeo, would have left anyone breathless and probably in tears. Yet, it is in the most hopeless situations in life that the love and grace of God will show up and he can begin to work miracles. The first miracle happened when the semi smashed into the gas tank, which was directly behind me, and did not explode.

Not only was I in this accident that affected me physically, but it the very core of my spiritual life was turned upside down. Everything which I knew to be real and of any value or meaning seemed as if it were shattered. My view of normalcy was completely rendered the opposite of normal. I had just been reading in Ezekiel that very week. I was amazed at how God saw Ezekiel in his darkest hour and breathed life into him.-??? Little did I know that days later, God would see me in my darkest hour and breathe life into me.

Isn't this amazing how God looks down at us at our lowest point and rescues us. God looks down from heaven at whatever low point you may find yourself in and he calls out to you, "I'll help you, but you have to trust me."
After I came out of my 40 day coma, I had to trust God that He would heal me and allow me to return to a normal life.

I prayed so many days. So many people prayed. God answered and today I am nearly fully recovered, run every other day, and go to Liberty University.

What do you need to trust God for today? Are you even trusting Him at all?
He will reach down and save you if you will put your faith and trust in Him.
In Romans 10, we read, "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

    Suicidal, and transformed through Christ

John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly."

This article tells of the transforming power of Christ in a young girl's life:

    http://www.faithwriters.com/article-details.php?id=20399

In this story, this girl (we'll call her Sarah for this story) had been feeling in her spirit that she needed to visit her friend one night, and that something was terribly wrong. So she drove to her house and knocked on the door ten times. Sarah knew something was terribly wrong.

Sarah got to the house and drove the girl to a nearby hospital. Sarah's friend  had attempted suicide. She took about 10 pills of a harmful drug, hoping to kill herself. Christ looks at us in our darkest hour and gives us hope in any seemingly hopeless situation.

On the way to the hospital, in the car, Sarah led her friend  to a saving knowledge of Christ. The girl's life was radically transformed. Sarah's friend came to a realization of the amazing love of God. She realized the purpose she had in Christ, far exceeded her own feelings of worthlessness. Sarah simply asked this girl if she would like to place her faith in Christ. She told her all she needed to do was to ask God for forgiveness of her sins and believe on Christ and what he did for her on the cross, to save her. Sarah's friend knew what she had to do and believed in Christ for her salvation. How amazing that Christ met this girl in the darkest hour of her life! In the seemingly hopeless situation this girl was in, Christ looked down at her and gave her hope.  In Romans 10:13 says, "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." The grace of God changed this girl's life and she was transformed because she chose to believe in Christ and placed her faith in Him.

At the hospital, the doctors told Sarah that her friend would  have surely died if Sarah would not intervened and driven her to the hospital.

Sarah's friend was in a hopeless situation, and Christ intervened and changed her life. Maybe you are in a hopeless situation. In  Romans 5:5, Paul tells us how the hope of Christ "does not put us to shame."

What hopeless situation are you in? Do you feel as if you have no purpose in life? Christ will meet you at your greatest need and transform your life. Only believe in Him.

I also was in a hopeless situation 8 years ago when I was in the hospital in a 40 day coma and paralyzed on my left side. My family believed for my healing and God truly healed me. I have had to daily believe God for my healing since then and God has continually healed me.

What healing do you need to believe God for?

I would say after Jon Nichol’s death I became more aware than ever of the needs of the people around me. I remember that day that I heard of a list of probably six or seven people who had lost their lives in car accidents. This happened one day after the time when Jon had passed away. I also remember of the many reports of deaths from cancer or new cases of cancer which had been diagnosed. I would say the very things I have had to overcome in my recovery can be attributed to much of the reasons of all the cases of cancer/disease which I heard of.  The numerous examples of cancer and disease find their source in anxiety/ depression/unforgiveness.

I realized that my own past struggles with anxiety and unforgiveness to various people was painting a picture for me to see the struggles of the vast majority of the hurting and broken people in this nation.

The teaching of Living Waters opened my eyes to the lies I had to fight in my own recovery. This opened my eyes to the reality that so many people in this nation, so many tbi survivors, many carriers of various diseases are believing lies which cause such physical and emotional chaos in a person’s life. This is why so many families are split apart.

What I realized are the lies I believed about myself because of my issues with others were warping my view of myself and my actions to others.

Because my spirit was constantly being fed with hidden manna from heaven, (Matthew 7…?) (Revelation 2:20) my body, or soul, was able to physically survive during those forty days in the coma. In Psalms David says, “The Spirit gives life.” My spirit was constantly being fed with the very Words of God. In a sense, God was breathing life into my body through His Word. This is why in Psalm 23, David prays, “He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He restores my soul.” It was God who physically made David rest. It was God who restored David’s weary body.

During those trying times in David’s life God strengthened him. It was God who empowered David to slay the lion, bear, and giant. Outside of God’s help, David was an insignificant and probably weak shepherd boy. However, God made him king and infused him with strength.

In the same way, God infused my mortal, broken body with strength and the life to come out of the coma. I wasn’t aware of my surroundings, but God had me perfectly in the palm of  His hand during that time in the trauma center, and even after.

I know this may seem like a lesson you hear in elementary school, but it is a powerful lesson anyone can learn from. So many people simply give up on life. They become overwhelmed with the pressures of this life and decide the only smart thing to do is to give up. I remember being tempted with this exact feeling so often.

I looked at my paralyzed knees in a wheelchair and my paralyzed arm and I felt useless and utterly hopeless. I thought, “There is nothing I will ever be able to do in this life and succeed at besides being a couch potato.

I realized  I had to hold unto God for strength. Just as Psalm 62:6 says, “He only is my rock and my salvation. He is my defense, I shall not be moved.” Only God could provide the solid rock I needed for strength. Only He daily would nourish my spirit with His Word.

I looked at my old friends deserting me and driving off in their cars and having blast, and I felt hopeless and as if I had no purpose.  I knew I could not count on them for strength and comfort. I had to rely on God for my source.
It was during this time that I had to solely rely on God. It was during this time that I also was introduced to the power of glyconutrients. God has given us everything in nature  we need. Everything that is natural on the earth , (such as vegetables, herbs, etc.) has been given to heal the body. The whole, natural foods on earth are everything we need for health. Here is a product which has tremendously restored my health. Everything that was in the garden of Eden is in this one, Powerful product!

    A Purpose- Filled life

On the trip to Florida when I was in the terrible accident which nearly took mine and my family's life, I had been reading Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven Life". I began reading it out of a quest to find what my purpose in this life truly was. I know God had created me for His glory, but I wanted to know exactly how He wanted me to serve Him and people. Thus, I began reading "The Purpose Driven Life" at the start of my spring break from highschool that 24th day of March of 2004.

The book suggests you take 40 days to read it, but I wanted to read it in about a week, so I began reading as fast as I could on that morning before the car accident. It is interesting how the next forty days I spent in a coma. I believe God was trying to get my attention that in order to find my purpose and calling in this life, He needed to first take me on a little journey.  That Journey began with the forty day coma and progressed into 72 days in the hospital. It has continued for the past eight years of intense therapy, which ended about a year ago. Though I am still in daily training with  physical and mental conditioning, I believe God wanted me to learn a powerful lesson from that little book.

That "Purpose Driven Life" was bookmarked at a key passage. One quote reads on page 30, "Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life. We were meant  to have meaning." Again on page 31 the author writes "Hope is essential to your life as water." These two words have been two of the of the most meaningful words that I have experienced in the past eight years.  So many people don't really know what purpose they have in life. And, they don't know who the ultimate purpose-giver is.
So many allow the cares and trials of this world to cause them to forget their purpose. Many young men and women simply get overwhelmed with the stress and pressures in this life and give up on life. They look at their circumstances in which they live and simply lose hope that they will ever better themselves.

There was many times I could have lost hope that I would ever get out of that wheelchair or that I could ever figure out a math problem again, but in my spirit I knew God had an ultimate plan and He still had a purpose for me. Praise God I am now running and in college. However, even if God had chosen to not fully heal me, He still would've had a purpose for me.

I believe having a personal relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ has given me the most purpose and meaning in life during the past eight years of my recovery. Many times I have been tempted to give up, but somehow I have known that if I would just keep pressing, and just keep fighting and giving a little effort each day, I had an assurance that God would honor that and He would be true to His Word and Promises. He promised me, "I will never leave you or forsake you" and in Psalm 62 He has promised to always be my rock and source of strength.

So I ask you, who or what is your source of strength? Do you place your faith in your bank account, which possibly will fail? Do you place your faith in your retirement which is never an assuring principle? Or do you put your faith in your spouse who lets you down all the time?

I challenge you to place your faith in God. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and become Lord of your life. Put your trust in Him, and I promise He will never let you down.

He never has let me down. Rather he has taken me from life support to a kindergardener's mental capacity to now a senior in college.  Romans 10 says, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

God will use your suffering for His glory and for your purpose

    http://affiliates.wellnessquest.org/shop25/index.cfm?afid=99

    *Email me; qualityoflifewill374@ymail.com

** So many times my life seemed completely hopeless. It seemed as if the purpose I had once possessed was completely over. The tide had turned and I felt as if I no longer could approach life with a sense of fulfillment and motivation to impact people. I knew Jeremiah 29:11 said, " For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I knew God was always true to His Word and I had always had the assurance that He was always in control. Yet for some reason, I felt as if that certain time in my life, when I was at my lowest, and completely helpless, it seemed as if God had forgotten about me. However, behind the scenes God was moving and working.
I knew God's Word was all powerful. I knew in my life before the time of my injury, that He had always been true in what He promised to me in His Word. I had just been studying in one of my classes of how God was sovereign and in control. Yet, when I looked at my paralyzed and broken body, my hope was almost depleted to nothing. When I realized my eyes were unable to view images with the same clearity as they had when I read in "The Purpose Driven" the poem by Russel Kelfer. Those same eyes which had been reading to find Purpose, now looked hopelessly at his disabled, broken body. I cried out to God, "Why", and I even asked my parents why they had prayed so hard for me to come back. I thought, "Man, I could have been in heaven right now, rather than sitting paralyzed in a wheelchair, and experiencing all this discomfort and hopelessness."

I believe the Poem by Russel Kelfer in "Purpose Driven Life" describes perfectly my life since then. It reads, "You are who you are for a reason. You're part of an intricate plan. You're a precious and perfect unique design, Called God's Special Man or Woman. You look like you for a reason. Our God made no mistake. He knit you together within the womb, You're just what He wanted to make.

The Parents you had were the ones He chose, And no matter how you may feel, They were custom designed with God's plan in mind, And they bear the Master's Seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy. And God wept that it hurt you so; But it was allowed to shape your heart So that into His likeness you'd grow.

You are who you are for a reason, You've been formed by the Master's Rod. You are who you are, beloved.
    There is a God!"

To truly walk in Purpose, our bodies need everything that was in the Garden Of Eden.

    The Purpose of your suffering

I have recently been thinking on a new dynamic that applies to my testimony, which will be a new chapter to my book. The topic revolves around the question of "why". I know I have asked this question many times when I was in the midst of my suffering.I asked the question of "why did this happen to me God?" It took me about a year before I came to the realization that God was using the trying time I was in to mold me and shape me into becoming the man of God He wanted me to become. He had a master plan, and in order for me to arrive at the goal of His plan, I needed to and still need to suffer a little bit. I think this is a topic many of us can relate to at some level.

You may not be looking up at God and asking the exact question I asked; "Why did you allow this to happen, God?"
You may be asking yourself why a certain family member  has to suffer or had to die. You may be asking God why did your husband/wife leave you. You may be asking why You had to be born  with a defect like the way you are. You may even be asking why you were allowed to develop a disease which means a much shorter lifespan. The list goes on of the hard questions of "why" we face in life.

To be honest, we all are going to encounter some type of suffering in this life.If your not going through suffering right now, or you haven't been through a trying time in your life when you suffered greatly, then you probably are heading into some type of storm.

I'm not 100% sure of why God allows His children to  suffer, but I do know that in my own life and in the lives of those heros in the Bible and other great Christian heros, suffering always is used to mold the person into someone with much more character than he/she ever had before the ordeal.

I know in my own life, my 8 years of intense therapy and the road to recovery that I am still on has caused me to develop a much stronger character and appreciation for the life God gave me.
I see life from a  new and broader perspective now that I did not have before my almost fatal accident. God has blessed me with amazing friends.

Look at Job's life; he lost everything, including his family, house, much of his wealth, and a large part of his health. Yet God restored everything he had lost, but to a much greater degreee than what he previously had. Look at Joseph in the Bible. He lost much of what he held dear, but God restored everything back and gave him authority over his family and much of Egypt.

God has done much the same with me. I have been blessed beyond measure with so many resources and friends and opportunities.

The key to overcoming suffering is to not let your suffering cause you to grow bitter towards others and even to God. God is using your trial to mold you into the person he wants you to become.

    Your love Languages

Recently, I took Gary Chapman's test on love languages. Yes, its true that I, a college male college student took a test on how I express love. I challenge you to look at this website and find your love languages; http://www.5lovelanguages.com/. I promise you, this won't mean you are any less of a person, or your purpose is any less than any body else's.

Rather, if you know where you need love and where and how you should express it, this will make you a more dynamic, powerful person!

    Here are my results and some of my own thoughts on relationships;

A healthy relationship is one in which a relationship prospers because all the people involved know how to flow in love and interaction with eachother. People do not get easily upset with eachother because they are full of the love of God. Thus, any hurtful word or action that might be done to the other person simply rolls off their back like a duck. They are secure in their relationships and love can flow freely between them.  In a secure relationship, people are able to express their opinions and feelings with eachother without offending one another.

In a secure and Godly relationship, not only are people able to interact freely and share their feelings freely with eachother, but secure people with a love for God are not shaken as easily by outward circumstances which might otherwise negatively affect an insecure/lost  person. For instance, a secure spouse can handle her/his children screaming, the demand of bills to be paid, and the pressures of living with another person with different habits, and not cave in under the pressure.  Her love for God gives her a security and a sense of being loved and valued that is not affected by circumstances. A secure relationship is when two or more groups of people know how to connect with one another in a genuine manner despite the stress of everyday life. They apply God’s love to their relationships through forgiveness, speaking truth,  and offering grace.

From Gary Chapman’s Five Love Languages Website

    My love languages were ranked:

                                                                    4.            Receiving Gifts

                                                                       5.          Acts of Service

                                                                       5.          Physical Touch

                                                                       5.          Words of Affirmation

                                                                       11.       Quality Time

    A different outlook this Valentines

During my second semester at Liberty, a profound truth hit me like I had never seen it before. One morning, when I was reading Ephesians 4, one of my favorite passages, I realized something amazing and truly lifechanging. Ephesians 4:14-16 is where I received the greatest revelation. 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

I had always had a general understanding of what Paul says in verse fourteen through sixteen, “Then we will no longer be children tossed to and fro by the waves and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceptive scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every aspect the mature body of Him  whom who is the head, that is Christ. 16 “From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows  and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work”, but for some reason, when I read it that morning of February 2nd 2013, I really got it.

Why would Paul exhort us not to be like infants tossed in the waves by men’s evil scheming? Because, if we are spiritually and/or emotionally  immature than every little hurtful word that people might speak to us, or even what we might hear they said about us can be extremely hurtful and sometimes almost fatally hurtful if  we keep these hurtful feelings inside for years and years allowing other hurtful/bitter thoughts and feelings to pile on top of each other. Almost without fail, as we continue to allow these hurtful and bitter feelings to build up and continue to cause pain, people medicate this pain through becoming isolated individuals and medicating the pain in their hearts (psyche’s) through drugs, alchohol, excessive physical training, video or computer games, school work, and a host of other ways.

People stay locked inside and they do not know how to relate to others on an emotional/relational level. This is why Paul exhorts us here to “speak the truth in love” and in other places to “walk in love”. Because, in these times of speaking the truth of our inner, real, hidden, and unseen selves that (after we have spoken how we truly feel) that the pain begins to be released and the path to healing is laid out before us. This path to healing has been laid out before us by God the Father, who in essence created us to be relational beings and sent His Son to redeem our broken relationships.

When Paul says in verse sixteen, “From Him the whole body joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love as each one does its work” , we see that “every ligament is joined and held together as each does its part” paints the picture of how we gain strength through fellowshipping and learning to be in meaningful relationships with others.

What we can learn from this is that the key to successful, meaningful relationships with others is to walk in love towards them by speaking the truth with one another always in all situations. Christ has given us the key to walk in fulfillment with a sense of being loved by others. Simply apply God’s Word to your life and we have the ability to walk securely, not “as infants tossed by the waves.”

I challenge you to strive to speak the truth with the people you know. Examine yourself and think about the time in your life when you did not speak the truth in love and you still have that pain bottled up. If this is you, I challenge you to seek forgiveness through prayer. Simply pray, “God I recognize I have “this place (or places)” in my life where I feel pain towards ‘this person’ (insert their name or names). But, I choose to forgive them.” I acknowledge that what he/she did was wrong and it hurt, but I choose to forgive them, because Christ paid in full for this wrong they did. He was willing to  be beaten beyond human recognition and die an excruciating and painful death for me and “the person” so that we might be saved from sin and its consequences. I promise you that if you speak the truth about how you truly feel to the person or someone and you pray this and mean it, you will begin to experience change and freedom in your life.

Maybe, as you read this, you realize that you don’t understand “this love of God”. You realize you are lost without Christ. Even if you prayed this prayer and meant it with all your heart, it would accomplish nothing, because you have not first asked Christ to save you from your sins and be Lord of your life. I challenge you to cry out to God for salvation. He is your only hope. Just pray, “God I’m so sorry for my sins and how I have ran from you.” I believe in you and what your Son Jesus Christ did for me when He died on the cross for my sins.I ask you to forgive me of my sins, and come into my heart and save me from my sins. I ask you to be Lord of my life and cleanse me of my sins. I place my faith and trust in you now to be Lord of my life. God has told us plainly in His Word how to be saved. In Romans 10:9-12, we read, “9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[e] 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I promise you that if you will pray this prayer and mean it with your whole heart, God will save you right where you are. No matter what horrible things you have done, Christ’s gift is free to all who will believe in His Son Jesus Christ. He will save you so that you can truly walk in this freedom in your relationships and life. He will save you so that you can spend an eternity in heaven with Him and not the place called Hell. If you pray this, I challenge you to find a local Christian church (Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Methodist, or another Bible believing and preaching denomination. Get plugged in to this church and tell the pastor or a deacon your amazing deciscion. Or just tell someone you know is a Christian and ask them to pray for you as you begin this amazing new life in Christ. You can even email me at qualityoflifewill374@ymaIL.com and tell me. Or, maybe you need someone to talk to about all the hurt you feel in your life that you want Christ to deliver you from.
