For the longest time, I felt like I was the only one struggling with what I was going through. I felt like nobody out there really knew how I felt or what I was experiencing. Yeah my family, few friends, doctors, and therapists all seemed to genuinely care about me, but I didn't feel like anybody really understood what I was going through. Then my eyes were opened. There's tons of people out there who are going through almost exactly what I went through (a tbi and being paralyzed from strokes). Not only that, but someone out there is always in a worse situation than I was. A friend of mine told me that. No matter what, there is always somebody in a worse predicament than you are.
Wow...I realized I wasn't alone. There were other people, even thousands and thousands of people who were going through what I went through.
Maybe you're out there and yu feel like nobody truly understands what you're going through. You feel alone, helpless, and hopeless. I know I did at one time. Take comfort in knowing there are others out there just like yourself.
I encourage you with this; You're not alone, I promise. There is somebody out there who is going through what you're going through. Not only that, God will be with you if you will just call on Him. Romans 8:38 says that there is nothing that can seperate us from the love of God. This simple truth became so real to me after my acciddent. I knew God and loved Him before, but I truly came to realize that no hurtful word, no semi, no person, no sickness, and even no acciddent can seperate me from His love. I encourage you today that if You will just cry out to God with belief and assurance in His grace, He will reach down and save you so that you can have this amazing assurance that you will never be alone. No matter where you are or what you've done, He will never leave you. You're not alone.
